Our model starts with God in business because he is foundational to all of life. God has created the sphere of business in his created world. Our Business Stewardship Model is a reminder God has created us to do business, to exchange value, and to steward his creation. Regardless of vocation or role, whether in a paid vocational ministry role or in a business role, we need to remember the foundation. It sets our perspective for decision-making and the choices we make.
Planning defines a consistent method of assessing need and allocating resources. This helps avoid the squeaky wheels getting most of the attention, and also provides a mechanism for balancing the needs and resources of the organization while insuring alignment with its mission. It begins to answer the question of what an organization will do with God’s provision of resources to fulfill its mission. Planning is a tool of business stewardship.
